Department

Finance and Administration

Purpose

The Finance and Administration Department has the responsibility of (a) managing the financial resources of JASL, and (b) providing administrative support to the programmes and the overall functioning of the organisation that includes Information Technology and managing the members of the Ancillary Team.

The Department's Staff members include (in Kingston ): Mr. Mark George - Director of Finance & Administration, Mr. Clifford Saunders - Administrative Assistant – Finance, Mr. Leonard Officer – Receptionist, Mr. Alton Lawrence – Driver and Mrs. Annie Rosemary Phillips – Office Attendant, Mr. Damian Brown-Information Technology Technician

In Montego Bay they are Mr. Rohan Manboard – Chapter Manager; and Ms. Melonie Lothian-Johnson – Office Attendant; Mr. Horace Malcolm- Driver.

In Ocho Rios they are Mr. Linford Cunningham – Administrator, and Mr. Milton Cooper – Office Attendant.

Activities

The Finance and Administration Department manages activities some of which include but are not limited to:-

•  Processing, orienting and deploying individuals who are desirous of volunteering with JAS.

•  Submitting reports to funding agencies/donors, etc. This also includes financial reporting and filing of Government obligations, statutory returns, etc.

•  Maintaining the physical plant

•  Processing all telephone calls coming into the organisation

•  Managing the organisational vehicles

•  Managing local and overseas students who are doing research or internships
