Jamaica AIDS Support Guestbook
Thank you for visiting our pages.
Please sign our guestbook.
Excellent creation of the JAS website, however I am wondering how many Jamaicans will be able to visit this site to access information. I was hoping to see a program targeting gay men and (MSM) Men Who Have Sex With Men because looking at recent statistics around the caribbean clearly men are driving the epidemic. I know that the idea of tageting gay men in programs may not sit well with the general public given the systemic issues around homophobia. Having said that if one needs to get ahead of the epidemic, then a targeted interventions program must be designed to address gay and MSM. Trevor Gray HIV/AIDS Prevention Coordinator

I would like to be a volunteer, but it would not be in person. I am a jamaican living in The Bahamas for years , i used to volunteer at the Aids camp they have here ,unfortunately i have to stop, has it was too much to handle. I missed talking and laughing with some persons , but it was the children i could not help feeling sorry for so i just said is too much. I was reading the gleaner when i see the JAS. I would like to help with donations or fundraising ,if i could deal with someone personally. and if there is a person or persons whom is infected/affected and has a e-mail address i would surely like to talk. i was doing counselling ,stock-taking and helping where possible.Thank you for taking the time to offer love, and care to those who needed it most. May God continue to bless your store houses .

i pray to god that one day we will find a cure but for now we must work harder to build a better bridge across the divide(those who are infected and who are not yet infected. I think that if left unchecked our careless sexuals practice can lead towards a more dooms day report on the hiv/aids criss across the island and even across the globe, please note that "each one help one" PLEASE CONTINUE TO PROMOTE THE WEARING OF CONDOMS AND THE IMPORTANCES OF GETTING TESTED . I HAD MY FIRST TEST IN JUNE OF THIS YEAR. ps still negetive*

Surely this is a blessing to our people of Jamaica. I have lost at least two relatives to this disease and wish I would have been with them through their suffering. I am so greatful that JAS rose to the occasion. As our service to our people this is so important that in dying and suffering there is someone to hold their hands and pray for and with them. I would like to visit when next I am home. My contribution will be forth-coming. I truly appreciate the work that you are doing at home, I know what it is to watch somone die, it it not easy and all your staff will surely be blessed for their commitment to the sick and dying. As an assurance to those who are in despair and without the support of family just know that "when thy father and thy mother forsake you then the lord will take you up" I will continue to pray for the staff at JAS and I thank you so much for this work, it is a great work and you will be blessed for it. I would like to probaby minister in songs and share words of encouragement If I may......soon. Also, the work that you are doing for the younger people is paramount, keep on doing your service for the love of humanity. Karen

I had the great pleasure of having a tour of JAS offices in Kingston while overnighting from Foro 2003. I must say tha I was impressed by the building, staff and projects that JAS has undertaken. This tour, conducted by Ian McKnight, really assisted me in re-directing my priorities when it comes to the HIV/AIDS work I do in Bermuda. Keep up the good work.

I am truly very happy to know about the work being done in Jamaica. I am an only girl for my parents, and my cousin who was the only sister I had, died from this disease. I thank God that I was able to be with her every step of the way until her death. Our assurance is that Jesus is coming back to put an end to sickness and death. Thank God that He has the keys of death and the grave.
