Ian McKnight

• Ian McKnight

Hi, I am Ian McKnight and I am a co-founder and Executive Director of JAS. I have also served as the JAS Director of Public Education, Advocacy and Social Marketing and Director for Targeted Interventions.

Presently, my fulltime job is as the Violence Prevention Specialist on the USAID/ Ministry of Health's Adolescent Programme called JA-STYLE. I have a Masters degree in Human Resources Management and a Masters degree in Communication for Social and Behaviour Change. I serve on the Boards of Ashe Performing Arts and Children and Community for Change (3Cs) and am the local Focal Point of the Caribbean Vulnerable Communities Coalition.

I am partnered with four children.

Ashley Gambrill
  • Ashley Gambrill-Rousseau

Hi I am Ashley Gambrill-Rousseau and my involvement with JAS goes back over ten years when I was drawn to JAS' groundbreaking and inspiring work in establishing this organization--the first of its kind in Jamaica .

I am the Editor of SkyWritings, Air Jamaica's in-flight magazine, and General Manager and Director of Creative Communications Inc, a publisher of tourism-related publications and trade magazines. In addition, I have over seven years experience in public relations and corporate communications as Public Relations Manager for ICD Limited; Account Executive at Creative Projects; and as a freelance consultant.

I am a graduate of Boston University with a BA in English, a published writer , a member of the board of the Edna Manley Foundation and have served on the board of Food for the Poor (Jamaica) and committees for United Way (Jamaica) and the Council for Social and Voluntary Services (Jamaica).

Althea Bailey
  • Althea Bailey

I am Althea Bailey and I have been involved in the work of Jamaica AIDS Support (JAS) since its inception when I was employed to the Ministry of Health's Epidemiology Unit and provided technical assistance to JAS. Over the years I have collaborated with JAS in many different interventions aimed at providing care and support for persons living with HIV/AIDS and at heightening public awareness. Presently, I am a lecturer in health promotion in the Department of Community Health & Psychiatry at the University of the West Indies . I am married with two children. I teach Sunday School and work with adolescents and young adults at the church I attend.

Rev Anthony Eldemire
  • Anthony Eldemire

I am Rev. Anthony Eldemire and I am a Minister of Religion and Educator. I have been exposed to JAS for over 10 years whenever I was called upon to render counseling services to persons living with HIV/AIDS. I take to the Board experiences in Educational Psychology, School Management, Family Counselling and Group Counselling, Teaching and Christian Ethics . Some of my key roles in the society include being a Justice of the Peace, Returning Officer, Marriage Officer and School Administrator. I am married with two children.   

Tanyia Nethersole
  • Taynia Nethersole

I am Taynia Nethersole and I am an attorney-at-law and am the Group Legal Advisor for the ATL/Sandals Group. I have been a supporter of the work of JAS for many years and have recently been asked to sit on the Board after a brief stint as a Trustee of the Jamaica AIDS Support Trust. I am also a member of the Board of Management of the National Gallery of Jamaica and a Trustee of the Earl Warner Memorial Trust.

Frances Coke
  • Frances Coke

Hi, I am Frances Coke and I am a a Human Resource Management Consultant and lecturer at The Mona School Of Business, University of the west Indies where I teach Behavioural Sciences and Human Resource Management. Prior to this, I worked as Executive Director of the Institute of Management and Production and as Training Manager at Telecommunications of Jamaica (now Cable & Wireless). I have also been a high school teacher and guidance counsellor.

My other other activities include being a volunteer with Jamaica AIDS Support and an associate of The Sisters of Mercy. Her hobbies are writing, reading and listening to music. I have a Master's degree in Educational Psychology.
